Microphones, electromagnetic sensors, probes, receivers and kits from the studio of sound artist Wouter Jaspers. Every instrument here started in my own work before I made it for anyone else.
Hey!
I am Wouter, for over twenty years I have recorded places, radio waves and the electromagnetic hum of machines and used them to make music and installations, mostly with instruments I build myself. When one of them proves itself in my own work, I make a small batch for others.
This is a one man operation I always refer to as my private label like a fashion designer. I build all the things myself, measure every microphone before it leaves the workshop, and I answer every message personally.

Cortiça microphone
Rain, birdsong, rooms, the detail of an instrument up close. An omnidirectional condenser in a body of Portuguese cork with 14 dB-A self-noise, sold single or as pairs matched by hand within 0.5 dB.
Electromagnetic · passive · XLR
Electromagnetic Sound Probe
The hidden voices of phones, laptops, chargers and transformers. A passive coil that turns electromagnetic fields into sound and plugs straight into any XLR input, no phantom power needed.
Light and sound · DIY kit
Sonic Chessboard
Sound moved through a room by light and chess pieces. A passive optical panner with 16 inputs and 8 outputs under a cork board, first made for my installation Indeterminate Structures.

Receivers for natural
and urban radio
I’ve had a very busy 2026, not so much on the road but in the workshop and studio. After working mostly on instruments for field recording, my other big love is field recording radio waves. So that’s whats coming: instruments for the very low frequencies of lightning and the magnetosphere, and for the signals that fill a city. Every microphone is tested before it ships. Pairs are matched within 0.5 dB at 1 kHz.
